Water Clock Memorials

Over the past three weeks, I've been installing a Water Clock in East Haddam, Connecticut. Water drips from elevations into ceramic bowls and limestone basins, producing a soft, meditative sound. This rhythmic flow reflects the cycles of life and death, with water as a medium for carrying memories. Two canoes float above, and grow perennial hanging gardens. These vessels carry worlds. Mythological traditions often view water as a conduit between realms; here, it carries stories across these thresholds, reminding visitors of the legacies that endure beyond physical presence. This Water Clock is a quiet memorial.
Next week, I'll install a smaller water clock outside of the Aldrich Museum in Connecticut for an exhibition, A Garden of Promise and Dissent curated by Amy Smith-Stewart. "Water Body, Water Time" will be there for the next year.
