This limited edition abstract photograph is a journey through time, dark and light. "Last Light/First Light" is evidence of my dedication to slowing time and capturing the nighttime allure of the year's shortest day.
I watch as the final rays of light vanish at night and reawaken at dawn. I expose the same roll of 2 1/4 film at dusk and dawn, and the cross-patterns emerge from this photographic process. "Last Light/First Light" commenced in the year 2000, when I began documenting light and time. The photograph was taken on December 21st and 22nd, 2004.
This limited edition abstract photograph consists of 50 prints, and each measures 12" x 12", signed on the recto. "Last Light/First Light, 2004" contributes to fundraising efforts expanding access to natural spaces in New York City.
