Three Moons, from the portfolio Night Gardens

Three Moons, from the portfolio Night Gardens

Three Moons began with celestial phenomena and with attempts to cultivate striking gardens, from moon gardens to Monet’s Garden in Giverny, France, where I spent a summer in residence. I watched bloom times create shifting color fields, planted to catch the sun at different hours.

Cutout plant images and fake flowers layer over a photograph of a miniature garden I built inside a fish tank. That small, odd ecosystem blurs the line between riparian and celestial space, leaning into the magical realism plants already carry.

The photograph treats night as a commons, shared by pollinators, tides, insomnia, and moonlight, persistent and abundant.

Three Moons is a limited-edition fundraiser print (edition of 25) supporting Swale’s Floating Garden. This photo collage draws on magical realism, combining cutout plants, scans, submerged underwater photographs, and fabric foliage to create a dreamlike nightscape beneath three moons.

Available in two sizes: 8" x 8" or 12" x 12", each giclée print is signed on the front. Printed with pigmented inks on 100% archival, museum-quality watercolor paper, the work is carefully hand-finished in our studio.

Prints are shipped flat in protective packaging and arrive ready for framing. As each one is made to order, please allow up to two weeks for production.

Every purchase helps sustain Floating Garden as a living artwork and public space for food, art, and ecology.

Please note: Framed prints add 5" - 6" to the overall size.
