I created "The Weight and the Offering," a soft sculpture, by gathering clothing I discovered along parts of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trail. I carried some of the fabric with me for days. I bundled these garments to build this sculpture, securing the fabric with red and olive green paracord.
This hands-on process of collecting trailside clothing deepened my connection to the moment.
The resulting textile sculpture invites my own contemplation and weaves a narrative about the contemplative pilgrimage. It serves as a reminder that even everyday objects hold entire worlds within them, emphasizing the significance of every small thing.
The Weight and the Offering soft sculpture is 15 in x 15 in x 14 in and weighs fourteen pounds.
